Thanks to all the bloggers, chatters, webmasters, and others who have recorded stuff online for the benefit of others. Here's a summary of mine:

February 11, 2005: Submitted completed application online, including references
February 12, 2005: PC emailed me requesting loan info; filled out this form:
http://www.peacecorps.gov/status/financial.pdf

March 8, 2005: Officially nominated to a program in Rural French-speaking West Africa
March 18, 2005: I receive my medical packet from PC
May 9, 2005: I mailed my medical packet
May 18, 2005: PC receives my medical packet
June 14, 2005: Received email requesting legal paperwork
June 23, 2005: Obtained legal clearance
July 19, 2005: Called Office of Medical Services; they said any day now...
July 25, 2005: Called Placement Office; nothing else I can do
July 30, 2005: Medically cleared (on a Saturday, weird)
August 1, 2005: Contacted by the placement office. They asked me for four things:
- Transcripts showing that degree had posted
- The re-filling out of my romantic involvement worksheet
- A follow up on my cross cultural essay
- An update on my language learning
August 3, 2005: They received the above items
August 8, 2005: I called my placement officer. He said that the latest date I could get the invitation for the program that I was nominated into is August 12th. He also said that the program may be full depending on whether or not everyone invited accepts their offers.
August 12, 2005: My placement officer emailed me about a program similar to my original program but leaving in January. Would I be interested? If so, he'll transfer me to the placement officer in charge of this program. Yes, I'm interested. I was told to contact her after she has time to look over my file (about a week or two).
August 16, 2005: I get a Peace Corps Application Status Update email. My placement hold in cleared. I'm not sure what this means, but I'm not in a hurry any more, so I do nothing (for once).
August 24, 2005: Another Peace Corps Application Status Update email. My invitation was been sent on August 23rd.
August 25, 2005: I leave a voice message for my new placement officer. Will she be able to tell me anything more? I don't know...

Hey I ran across your site, looks like we're in the same boat with PC apps pending. I'm nominated for Heath Extension in Latin America leaving in Jan. so I still have a few months to go before I hear any news. Good luck to you in Africa!
Thanks for the info, I'm a little behind you in the process. My interview is today and I've been wondering about the order/timing of things from this point. Your insight helps. Best Wishes!!
Hi,
I'm in the Yahoo group and thought I'd check out your journal. What's your job area?
Natalie!
It must be wild to experience such large turtles up close and personal. I wish you the best of luck on your adventures, you crazy goose.
